Night
The most active space in the town at this hour of night. The tussle of people is noisy as they run about the shops and cafes of a now evident dieing town on its last leg. Better to say "What the hell" and spend you money. "Stimulate the economy" as the commander and chief had said half heartedly.
In the center of the plaza, adorning the Gotham Globe was a giant T.V. monitor much like what you see in NYC, giving the headlines, a handsome young anchor giving it his all at his meek desk. Suddenly static interrupted him, people taking obvious notice to the disruption in the norm. The picture returned as a shadow figure of what it had been.
A man in green sat in the young man's place, enveloped in the darkness but at the edge of some light that brought out a green outline of his attire and his bright red hair, though his face was completely in the shadows. The "graphic headline" next to this figure was only a green question mark. The words he spoke were familiar to anyone on The GPD.
"To a concerned party,
This thing all things devours; Birds, beasts, trees, flowers; Gnaws irons, bites steel; Grinds hard stones to meal; Slays king, ruins town, And beats high mountain down.
What is it?
The answer is where you shall find the man.
You're disappointing me Gotham. Do you really not care where your history goes. Well then your future is quite bleak.
Strike two! Chao!"

Peter Parker had only been in Gotham several hours and it didn't take him long to see the evil that existed here. He expeceted the Bat-Signal as soon as the broadcast ended, but remembered how long Bruce had left his city... they'd grown without him.
"This things all things devours... devours, or outlives?" Peter questioned, staring at the blank screen on his Gotham Ritz TV.
"And what outlives everything Peter? Time!" He rose triumphant. "Something to do with time..."
Peter opened the case he'd brought with him from NY, he removed some clothing and came to his desired attire at the bottom.
"Hello old friend." He grinned as he took out his webbed mask.
"Let's show Gotham what kind of a hero you are!"
