The alleyways had emptied out this night. Free food would draw anyone out into the open. Even people who had homes came to get something for their children. If you took one look at their homes you'd understand. The street was cleaner. To think that these folks had to shell out all their money to creditors just to stay in shacks. Lex Luthor accepted them into his Soup Kitchen anyway, children and all.
He'd spared no expense in gourmet dishes. All kinds of wondrous delights found their way under heat lamps of his paradise. A long line of unfortunate Gothamites went outside and around the block. The contrast of the filthy streets compared to the industrial cleanliness of Luthor's "Compound" was remarkable. Also worth a word was his gutsiness in being there himself, the famous area of death for millionaire Thomas Wayne.
The lights were dimmed for the night, but the volunteers were giving their time far into the night. Luthor himself serving plates, making suggestions on a light tart sauce now and then, the least of recipients worries. They were happy just to get food.
After the midnight "rush" calmed down, Luthor removed his gloves and hair net, his wig in place.(he thought it made him approachable) He took an empty chair and talked about the next step in his plans. The cheep housing he'd was building, clearing away the trashy remnants the "Old Gotham," somehow constantly reminding himself how great he was between points. The kids, plate it hand, were closest to him, in a big circle, cross legged, eyes big as stars with dreams of a future worth living. Occasionally straightening out the wrinkles in his black suit, the only peak of light his off style yellow tie, he smiled a smile worth a presidential nomination. He continued on for a long while.
"And I'll give to you." He said, speaking directly to the children. "Well, who else besides.."
"Lex Luthor, greatest intellectual mind of our time." Everyone said, apparently catching on to his mannerisms, having heard that phrase at least 7 times already.
He gave a awkward laugh.

Suddenly, the room got colder. Everyone felt it, but no one knew, exactly, what had been the cause. Just that it was unusually cold.
Perhaps, Mr. Luthor, it is time you were given a lesson in vengeance...
Suddenly, in a flash of light, the door to the Soup Kitchen was covered in ice. Everyone panicked as the very odd occurance happened infront of them. Backing away from the door, they all watched as it was slammed open by two men in furr parkas.
It was slightly snowing, outside, due to the crash of the frozen door. She had always loved the snow. That's all that he could think, seeing it.
"Boss, you're on."
He regained his composure, activating the gun in his hand, before getting out of the parked armored van, outside. As he landed, the ground nearly shook from the weight of his suit. With every step he took, everyone within the area could feel it. Finally, he approached the door.
One person screamed, at the sight of him. He turned, gun raised, before firing at the screaming bystander.
And in a spec of light, the bystander was covered in a thick layer of ice... Her terrified look still frozen on her soon to be dead face within it. He turned to the rest of the people within the room, gun aimed.
"Should you want to avoid a similar fate, you will do as instructed." , He uttered, from behind his dome.
His glowing red eyes piercing out at them from the fog of the helmet, He walked forward, gun held, as everybody stayed still.
"Where is Lex Luthor?" , He demanded, in a tone that made no one sure of his mood. Only his inhumanity.
Mr. Freeze had made his prescence known.

Yes...Perfect...
It was hard not to smile. Luthor stood with a smug, righteous look. He'd like to shake this man's hand for giving him an excuse to send this city into a new kind of horror.
He moved the trembling children aside, whispering words of concern and reassurance. He walked purposefully up to the large, clad figure. If it wasn't for the dome, he'd be an inch from his face.
"I'm Lex Luthor." He said. He'd stood toe to toe with three kryptionians. He could handle a chill. "I don't think your here for the food. I don't know what you want with me, I don't care, so why don't you push off, Mr. Winter Wonderland."

The click of Freeze's gun silenced Luthor's words, as the madman pointed right at his face.
"Such bravery. It is almost commendable." , Freeze said, as his gun loaded.
"You offer these people hope, Luthor. Yet you promise the impossible. Where was hope when she needed it?" , Freeze asked.
Luthor met his expression with a look of confusion.
"Of course. How could I expect you to know? But your ignorance is not my concern." , Freeze said, before firing at the ceiling.
In a spec of light, the entire ceiling had been covered in ice, filling the entire room with a blinding chill of snow and falling icecicles.
"Hope is but a false promise, Mr. Luthor. Only wrath, will you be able to give them effeciently. Perhaps you should consider it within an icy tomb." , Freeze finished, pointing the gun back at Luthor.

Fear for his life came to Lex Luthor for the first time. With the kryptonians he'd had something they'd wanted...Superman. Now, Luthor was amused in a plan that required him to live as a good man for a long while. He had it in his power to destroy this man...at Lexcorp, but he couldn't risk losing the facade. He had money. But, it seemed this man wanted blood.
This man looked familiar. Luthor didn't know him, but he may have seen him somewhere before. He couldn't place where.
"Well, then lets get the obvious questions out of the way. Who are you and what do you want, Mr. White Christmas?"
Lets see how far I can push you, snowman
